Action Shad – Natural Swimming Action for Bass Fishing

The Action Shad 100mm has a realistic baitfish shape, detailed eyes, and a flexible paddle tail that creates a natural swimming motion in the water. Its slim body moves smoothly while the tail kicks from side to side, making it look like a small fish swimming through its natural habitat. The soft plastic construction allows the lure to respond to changes in retrieve speed, from slow, steady swimming to quicker movements. A versatile choice for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, pike, perch, and zander in both clear and stained water.

FAQ

1. Why does my Action Shad swim sideways instead of straight?

Check that the lure is positioned straight and isn't bent. An uneven setup can cause it to roll or track to one side. Try a slower retrieve to see whether the swimming action improves.

2. How should I retrieve the Action Shad when bass aren't biting?

Start with a steady retrieve, then experiment with short bursts of speed and brief pauses. These changes can make the lure appear like a baitfish trying to escape.

3. Does the paddle tail still move at slow speeds?

The flexible paddle tail is designed to produce movement during slow retrieves. If the tail isn't kicking consistently, increase your speed slightly until you find the right pace.

4. Where should I fish the Action Shad in a lake?

Try fishing along weed edges, rocky shorelines, submerged structures, and areas where small baitfish gather. Vary the swimming depth to find where predatory fish are feeding.

5. What should I do when fish follow the lure but don't strike?

Try slowing down, adding a short pause, or changing the swimming depth. Sometimes a sudden change in speed can trigger a reaction from a following fish.

6. Is the Action Shad suitable for pike, perch, and zander?

Yes. Its baitfish profile and paddle tail action make it suitable for a variety of freshwater predators, including bass, pike, perch, and zander. Choose your presentation based on the target fish and water conditions.
