Product Description

The Real Shad features a slim baitfish profile, realistic eyes, and a flexible forked tail that gives it a subtle, natural appearance underwater. Unlike paddle tail swimbaits that create a strong kicking action, this soft plastic bait responds to small rod movements with gentle darts, glides, and twitches. Its lifelike shape makes it a great choice when bass, perch, or zander are feeding on small baitfish, especially in clear water or when fish are reluctant to chase fast-moving lures.

FAQ

1. Why isn't the tail kicking like a regular swimbait?

The Real Shad has a forked tail rather than a paddle tail, so it doesn't produce a strong kicking motion on its own. Use small rod twitches, gentle lifts, or pauses to create subtle baitfish movement.

2. What should I do when bass follow the lure but won't bite?

Try slowing down and adding longer pauses between short twitches. Sudden changes in movement can sometimes trigger a strike from fish that are following without committing.

3. How can I fish this lure in deeper water?

Pair it with a suitable weighted rig to reach your target depth. Let the bait sink, then work it with short lifts and pauses while keeping track of your line for subtle bites.

4. Is the Real Shad a good choice for clear water?

Yes. Its slim body, realistic eyes, and understated movement make it useful when fish can closely inspect a lure. Try a natural baitfish color and avoid excessive rod movement.

5. What if the lure keeps spinning or swimming sideways?

Check that the hook is centered and the body is sitting straight. An uneven rig can make a slender soft plastic bait roll or track incorrectly during the retrieve.

6. Which fish can I target with the Real Shad?

It's suitable for largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, perch, zander, and other freshwater predators that feed on small baitfish.
